Brief analysis on how to strengthen popularization of earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation in Yunnan seismic stations under the new situation

  • Earthquakes are one of the most harmful natural disasters to humans. Minimizing the losses caused by earthquake disasters to mankind is the goal that we have been striving to pursue. At present, earthquake prediction is still a worldwide problem.Vigorously carrying out popularization of science is one of the work measures that can effectively reduce the loss of earthquake disasters at this stage. With the developments of informatization and technology, the content and methods of popular science propaganda for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction also need to keep pace with the times in order to better adapt to the needs of economic and social development. In particular, the Yunnan earthquake system is in the period of institutional reform. How to do a good job in popularization of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction in the new era is both an opportunity and a challenge. This article takes the Kunming seismic station of Yunnan and some other stations as an example to compare with the popular science propaganda work of coastal provinces, and consider how to strengthen the popular science work of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction in Yunnan under the new situation.
