Research on Kyrgyzstan seismic activity and monitoring network

  • The Kyrgyz Republic plays a strategic role in Central Asia, and is China’s gateway to Central Asia and an important node of China’s New Silk Road Economic Belt. The seismic monitoring network of the Kyrgyz Republic is an integral part of the “Belt and Road” seismic monitoring network project. Understanding the distribution and operation of seismic monitoring stations (networks) in the Kyrgyz Republic is useful not only for optimizing the layout of the “Belt and Road” seismic monitoring network, but also for improving the awareness of seismic activity in Central Asia and improving the region’s earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation capabilities. This article studies the layout of the existing seismic monitoring network in the Kyrgyz Republic, the equipment used and its transmission methods, etc., in order to provide a reference for the deployment of my country’s “Belt and Road” seismic monitoring network project.
