The Quaternary activity characteristics of the Huize—Zhehai fault in the Northeast area of Yunnan

The Huize—Zhehai fault is located at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan. It strikes NEE with trend of NW and inclination angle of 60°—80°. On basis of analysis of satellite image interpretation, geological section, dislocation formation and trench etc, we analyzed and researched the exhibition and activity of Huize—Zhehai fault. The last Pleistocene activity of Huize—Zhehai fault is relative strong. Huize—Zhehai fault controls the development and evolution of Huize—Zhehai, Zhehai, etc. According to the trench profile and sample dating, we found one earthquake event. The latest of earthquake event is between （12 190±30） and （13 730±40） a.B.P.
