Determination of focal mechanism solutions of the earthquakes with M4.0 occurred in the mainland of China during July to September 2022

  • In this paper, the regional full waveform inversion of the broadband waveforms from China Seismic Network were conducted, and the focal mechanism solutions of the 18 earthquakes with M≥4.0 in the mainland of China from July 1 to September 30, 2022 were obtained. The centroid location and time shift of the M6.8 Luding, Sichuan earthquake were determinated by a grid search in the horizontal plane. The types of these focal mechanism solutions show 6 reverse faulting, 7 strike-slip faulting, 4 normal faulting and 1 unknown earthquakes.
