Abstract:
The
MW7.5 earthquake occurred near Sulawesi, Indonesia on September 28, 2018 (Beijing time). Through research and analysis of the focal mechanism of the earthquake, it is found that the earthquake was caused by the shallow strike-slip fault inside the Molujiahai microplate. Historical earthquakes and continuous strong earthquake data analysis in the surrounding area after the earthquake show that the region has entered the seismically active period, and the plate movement is more obvious. The tsunami caused by the earthquake is the main cause of death.
