Abstract:
As a means of resource reserve and economic compensation, earthquake catastrophe insurance can effectively reduce the burden of the government and provide economic compensation for the victims. After an earthquake, the economic damage of a megacity is worse than that in other cities. Therefore, it is particularly important to promote earthquake catastrophe insurance in megacities. In this paper, we compare and sort out the current situation of earthquake catastrophe insurance from aspects of policy, regulation, model construction and practical application. We analyze the difficulties in carrying out earthquake insurance in megacities of China. Finally, taking Beijing as an example, we put forward some suggestions on the development of megacity earthquake catastrophe insurance, and provide reference for policy-making and decision-making of relevant government departments in Beijing.
