2016年美国阿拉斯加安克雷奇MW7.1地震构造背景与区域地震活动

Tectonic context and activities of historical earthquakes in the area of the 2016 M7.1 earthquake,Anchorage,Alaska

  • 摘要: 2016年1月24日(北京时间) 美国阿拉斯加州南部安克雷奇附近发生了M7.1地震。 通过对地震震源机制的研究分析发现, 这次地震不是发生在太平洋板块向北美板块俯冲的边界断裂上,而是发生在太平洋板块的内部。历史地震分析结果表明,在未来几十年,该地区将主要以中强地震活动为主。

     

    Abstract: The January 24, 2016M7.1 earthquake southwest of Anchorage,Alaska,occurredas the result of strike-slip faulting at intermediate depths,within the subducted lithosphere of the Pacific plate. The mechanism and depth of the earthquake are consistent with its occurrence within the interior of the subducted Pacific plate,rather than on the shallower plate boundary thrust between Pacific and North America. The historical seismic analysis results show that in the coming decades,the region will mainly have strong earthquake activities.
