Abstract:
Based on 29 earthquake events with a magnitude of
M≥ 4.0 recorded in Chongqing and its adjacent areas since 1961, a total of 56 isoseismal observation data were extracted in this study. Regression analysis of seismic intensity attenuation relationships for the Chongqing region was conducted using the least squares method. On this basis, the derived attenuation relationship is compared and analyzed with the intensity attenuation models proposed by previous scholars, the calculation outputs of the operational seismic emergency command technical system, and observed seismic intensity distribution data. Ultimately, an intensity attenuation relationship model tailored to the regional characteristics of Chongqing was constructed. Validation through data regression indicates that the model is applicable within the magnitude range of 4.0 ≤
M≤ 6.0 and the wheelbase range of 0 ≤
R≤ 110 km.
