Abstract:
This study aims to explore public awareness and needs regarding earthquake disaster prevention and mitigation education in Jiangxi Province. By designing and implementing a questionnaire survey, this research extensively collected public feedback to evaluate their demand for disaster prevention information and their preferences for channels of information acquisition. The findings indicate that most respondents expressed a strong need for disaster prevention education, particularly emphasizing the preference for practical, easy-to-understand, and operable content. In terms of channels for obtaining information, digital media, especially the internet and television, emerged as the main sources for acquiring educational content. However, the main challenges include the overly theoretical, professional, and complex nature of the educational content, and the limited avenues for information acquisition. Based on these results, the study recommends that relevant departments and organizations strengthen on-site drills and use digital media for publicity and sharing of practical experiences, expand communication channels, and simplify professional content to more effectively meet public needs and enhance their awareness and capabilities in earthquake disaster preparedness.
